¿WHAT ARE CODEX?

Codices comes from the Latin CODEX, a manuscript book with picture documents or images, created as cultural products of the great civilizations MAYA, AZTECA, MIXTECO, ZAPOTECO, OTOMÍ and PURÉPECHA, which were formed and developed in MESOAMÉRICA.

¿WHERE ARE THEY?

There are very few of the prehispanic codex left, because they were destroyed
after the conquest in a general way. Almost all  the surviving documents
“There are fewer than 20’’ were sent as a gift to the King of Spain, wich
is way are kept in Europe, and only a few of them remain in México.
